We began with five students and a dream of offering engaging yet challenging swim lessons to help bring water safety awareness to our community.

When we started Sutton Swim School over 15 years ago in our back yard, our goal was to help children learn to swim in a fun and safe place. Little did we know that six months later we would be serving over 250 students out of our back yard pool!  Constantly expanding, it became apparent that we had outgrown our Cupertino facility. We found a spot in Campbell that we love, and began work on our new site. We were excited to design the building and pool from scratch, and hope you love it as much as we do.

Because we are dedicated to improving our students’ experience, we put in the best filtration system we could find.

Our curriculum heavily emphasizes fundamentals. We believe that swimming is a life skill that requires attention-to-detail and a strong foundation. Because of the importance, we place on the basic form, our students excel when they join competitive teams! Our dedication to correct technique at all stages of the learning process is what sets us apart from other schools.

We’re excited to see our teachers instill their students with a love of swimming that will last a lifetime.

We are so proud that our dream has become
a reality, and that we are able to have a positive impact on so many lives!

Drowning Prevention

01

There are around 300 000 annual drowning deaths worldwide.

02

Drowning disproportionately impacts children and young people. Children aged under 5 years account for nearly a quarter of all drowning deaths.

03

Drowning is the fourth leading cause of death for children aged 1–4 years and the third leading cause of death for children aged 5–14 years.

04

Since 2000 the global drowning death rate has fallen by 38%, from 6.1 to 3.8 per 100 000 population. Despite this progress, drowning deaths remain a preventable public health crisis, and the declines seen in the past two decades fall short of what is needed to meet the many Sustainable Development Goals to which drowning prevention contributes.

Wear a properly fitted US Coast Guard-approved life jacket to stay safer in open water such as lakes, rivers, and oceans.

Secure all water sources like pools, spas, hot tubs, and other water features with multiple barriers to prevent unsupervised access.

Never leave children unattended during bath time, always remove distractions, and immediately drain the bathtub to minimize drowning risks.

Formal swimming lessons can significantly reduce the risk of drowning. Teach children and adults basic swimming and water safety skills.

Drowning can be silent and happen in an instant. Always supervise children around water and know the signs of a swimmer in distress.

Educate everyone about potential water hazards, such as currents, tides, and hidden obstacles.
